Market Report Description

The North America Printed Electronics Market would witness market growth of 19.3% CAGR during the forecast period (2022-2028).

In traditional printing, the human eye determines the maximum required resolution of structures. The human eye cannot identify component sizes smaller than around 20 m, hence they exceed the capability of traditional printing methods. Higher resolution and smaller structures, on the other hand, are required in many electronics printing since they have a direct impact on circuit density and functionality, especially transistors. The precision with which sheets are printed on the top of each other has a comparable need. Controlling thickness, holes, as well as material compatibility, are all important, but only if the eye can identify them in traditional printing. For printed electronics, however, the visual impression is irrelevant.

The appeal of printing technology for electronics fabrication stems mostly from the ability to produce stacks of micro-structured layers (and hence thin-film devices) in a far more simple and cost-effective manner than traditional electronics. Also important is the possibility to introduce new or better functionalities, for example, mechanical flexibility. The printing method chosen is influenced by the requirement for printed layers, the qualities of printed materials, and the economic and technical aspects of the final printed items.

In the United States, solar energy is more economical, accessible, and widespread than it has ever been. According to the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, solar power capacity in the United States has expanded from 0.34 GW in 2008 to an estimated 97.2 GW now. This energy is enough to provide power to 18 million ordinary American homes. Solar energy, in the application of solar photovoltaics and concentrating solar-thermal power, now provides over 3% of US electricity (CSP). The average cost of solar PV panels has decreased by about 70% since 2014. Solar energy markets are expanding rapidly across the country since solar electricity is now cost-competitive with traditional energy sources in most states.

Solar's availability and potential across the United States are astonishing. PV panels covering just 22,000 square miles of the country's total land area, nearly the size of Lake Michigan, could power the entire country. Solar panels may be deployed on rooftops with little or no influence on land use, and by 2030, it is expected that more than one in every seven American residences would have a rooftop solar PV system. Another way of gathering solar energy is CSP, which has around 1.8 GW of capacity in the United States.
