Market Report Description

The Latin America, Middle East and Africa Bio-Based Polymers Market would witness market growth of 7.2% CAGR during the forecast period (2019-2025).

Bio-based polymers exist wholly or partially portioned as replacements to petroleum plastics from biomass or microorganisms. Many of these materials are usually known as bioplastics. A bioplastic, like polypropylene, is similar to conventional plastic, as it is used to make commercial products. The production of plastic from natural products, such as the removal and modification of biomass natural polymers, is based on three generic approaches such as bio-based monomer polymerization and microorganisms polymers processing.

The latest approach to their timely marketing is to create specialty polymers with distinct performance or functionality that cannot be achieved with standard polymers based on oil. Few tests to synthesize those bio-based specialty polymers have been conducted now and then. Aliphatic polycarbonate (derived from sorbitol), tulipalin acrylic polymers (obtained from tulip tuliposides), 3-methylene-5-methyl tetrahydrofuran-1-(levulinic acid MMT) and a pyruvic acid enol ester have been recently recorded. Another specialty, potentially biobased polymer, is a glassy lactide copolymer made of mandelide (mandelium acid).

Based on Type, the market is segmented into Polyethylene, Polyamide, Polylactic Acid, Polyethylene Terephthalate, and Other Types. Based on Application, the market is segmented into Textile, Automotive, Industrial, Agriculture, Packaging and Other Applications. The report also covers geographical segmentation of Bio-Based Polymer market. Based on countries, the market is segmented into Brazil, Argentina, UAE, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Nigeria, and Rest of LAMEA.
