Market Report Description

The Asia Pacific Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) Devices Market would witness market growth of 5.7% CAGR during the forecast period (2022-2028).

The rising number of maternal mortalities has fueled the demand for sophisticated treatments and equipment to ensure that pregnancy-related problems are effectively treated. The market for postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) treatment devices is predicted to grow significantly as a result of the factor. While producers of these devices have discovered profitable opportunities in rich countries, they have yet to establish a foothold in developing and underdeveloped nations.

Increased pregnancy difficulties, such as large size babies, inverted uterus, and multiple pregnancies, are a crucial reason driving the postpartum hemorrhage devices' market expansion. Furthermore, an increase in postpartum hemorrhage risk factors such as uterine atony and trauma, as well as an increase in anemia instances in pregnant women and increased awareness about PPH risk factors, all contribute to the market's growth.

In India, the sample registration scheme (SRS) revealed that PPH was a prominent cause of maternal mortality, accounting for 30% of maternal deaths in the 1998 survey of causes of death and that postpartum hemorrhages account for 38% of maternal fatalities in the 2001-2003 SRS. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) estimated the maternal mortality ratio in India in 2003 and found postpartum hemorrhage to be the primary cause of maternal mortality in the studied population.

In Kolkata, West Bengal, India, a prospective observational study was conducted over a one-year period in a tertiary-level referral institute. All PPH cases were discovered and investigated. The Chi-square test was used to analyze the data. PPH was revealed to be the causal cause in 79 (37.6%) of 210 cases of maternal morbidity. Uterine atonicity was discovered to be the primary cause of PPH in 45 instances (56.9%). Severe PPH was identified in 34.3 percent of vaginally delivered patients and 60 percent of operatively delivered patients, which was statistically significant. Outside the medical college, 17/31 (54.8 percent) of severe PPH cases were delivered. Thus, the reasonably high rate of postpartum incidences in the country is likely to lead to the rise in demand for postpartum hemorrhage devices.
